We make a lot of smoothies in my house and I love them, but sometimes I actually crave juices. Sounds crazy, I know, especially if you haven’t tasted a green juice. I have to say though, if you do, I think you’ll be surprised by how fruity and refreshing green juices can be. There are so many opinions on juicing and debate over how nutritious they really are, but I look at them as a great way to get veggies and fruits into your day. I don’t feel that juices should supplement eating whole fruit or vegetables, but they make a great addition. I sometimes start the day off with a green juice for breakfast. It leaves me feeling light, refreshed and restored.
This particular combination is really delicious. The pear adds just enough sweetness without being overpowering. Kale is one of the most nutritious greens, adding lots of Vitamins A, B6 and K and even minerals like calcium and iron and potassium. Then there’s the cucumber. Cucumber is a wonderful addition to juices. It’s made up of ninety-six percent water, so it really adds to the volume of your juice, but it also contains electrolytes and minerals that are so good for you. Finally, I love adding lemon to my juices. Not only does it give a bit of a boost of Vitamin C, its citrusy tang perks up the flavors of the greens and balances out the sweetness.
So, with all of this juicing and smoothie drinking we do, you can imagine how many straws we go through. I mean, it’s a bit contradictory to put so much effort in doing something so healthy for our body, only to fill our landfills with plastic straws. Did you know that plastic straws are one of the largest component of plastic pollution? They are also one of the top ten items found during beach clean ups. I’ve tried using paper straws, but honestly, as pretty and decorative as they can be, I find them really unpalatable to drink from. So, when I received a message recently from Glass Dharma asking if I’d like to try their glass straws, I was intrigued! As soon as I tried one, I knew I wanted to work with them and to share their product with you. I love the selection of straws they carry. There are a variety of diameters, lengths and even bent and decorative straws. They have a great feel when using them without altering the flavor of your drink the way paper straws seem to.
I really do have a lot of admiration for the people at Glass Dharma. They are the original creators of glass straws and have been doing so since 2007. The straws are made in the United States of the strongest glass commercially available. They also give you a one hundred percent satisfaction guarantee and a lifetime guarantee against breakage!
Glass Dharma would like to give one of you a $25.00 gift code to purchase the straws of your choice! Enter below!
